City of Lights - Laser show at Brisbane Festival
I took this photo during Brisbane Festival 2012. It's of the Santos GLNG City of Lights, taken from the South Bank side of the river, facing the city.
It is a 1 second exposure at F8.0 - I have adjusted the contrast and blacks to deepen the blacks and reduce the ambient light. I like the silhouetted people at the front. (You can see it easier on Flickr.)
Supertrees at Gardens By The Bay - Singapore
At certain nights of the week Gardens By The Bay hosts a laser and light show featuring music and animated lights along the Supertrees.
The Supertrees are one of the landmarks and icons of Singaporean tourism at The Gardens - and actually serve as air/exhaust vents for the maintenance areas below the Gardens.
Pub in Wanaka, New Zealand
On a holiday in New Zealand, I found this interesting looking pub venue. I liked the colours and the lighting against the dark night in the small-medium sized town of Wanaka.
It is a 15 second exposure at F8.0. I only needed to apply a slight noise reduction and sharpening filter.
Brisbane City from Kangaroo Point Cliffs
This was taken at Kangaroo Point along the Brisbane River, looking over towards Riverside. I took it while on a photo walk with a local photo meetup.
The others on the walk had already set up further along the outcrop so I had a tree in the frame. But I decided to make use of the tree anyway, and leave it in the frame. I hope it provides some extra visual interest.
Great Ocean Road
This photo of the Great Ocean Road in Victoria during a cloudy day. I liked the composition but the lighting was bland. So I was able to improve it by adding a vignette to focus the eye, split toning the highlights to a slight red, and I increased the blacks to reduce the underexposed pixels in the foreground.
